Japan Stop Over
|
|
This is a 10 hour stop over in Japan.. I am already exhausted before I get there after 2 flights (1 to London and then a 14 hour to Japan).. and still visibly shaken from the violent landing that I have just experienced, most know I am a terrible flyer and not great to travel with.. But I am proud to say that I am one of the few who wasn't physically ill.. I decided I was too tired and would probably get lost if I took the 80 min journey to Tokyo from the Airport, so I headed instead to Narita, a small town 2 train stops from the airport.. It was a pretty place and I spent time visiting a few temples and some beautiful gardens, while also finding a moment or two to fit in some christmas shopping..
Ten down one flight to go, the next one will land in Melbourne and I can't wait..

Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oban, Mull - Scotland
|
|
Scotland is fantastic!!! I loved every part of Scotland..
Once again beautiful people looked after me all the way Sinead and Troy took me for a day trip to Edinburgh which included the castle, christmas markets and a little ice skating.. Sinead a natural and me a rolling disaster.. We then did a mini pub crawl of Edinburgh with another ex meltonite in Moon.. This was a ball and ended with us running for the last train to Glasgow..
We then spent the day wondering the streets of Glasgow and having a great Japanese lunch.. Glasgow University is a sight to be seen and the westend is a wonderers delight.. Jen flew in that night and we began plans for our big adventure up North for the next 2 days..
We visited Oban and then headed over to Mull for the night.. The ferry ride was interesting and the one laned roads were at times a little scarey, however full credit to Troy's driving as we made it there and back in one piece.
I only managed to see a small part of the Scotish highlands and I was impressed.. I will make time to go again and spend weeks just exploring this part of the UK..

London - England
|
|
Although sad to leave the beautiful weather in Spain, I was thrilled to be in London to visit 2 beautiful people Sarah and Keith..
On Friday I visited Bristol and Bath. Bristol is a bustling city with over 550,000 people and it shocked me at how big it was.. I visited the famous Clifton suspension bridge and wondered around the streets, before catching my train to Bath..
What can you say about Bath it is absolutely beautiful and as with everywhere I went in Europe there were christmas markets.. I wondered the city and enjoyed its atmosphere before heading back to the city for a little shop down Oxford St and a quick stop at Harrods (It is simply David Jones full of tourists)..
Saturday morning I wne to watch Sarah play netball, now I was expecting indoor courts.. To my shock and the fact I had only put 3 layers on this morning it was played outside and I as I walked to the courts past the partially frozen lake I am reminded that this takes real committment and whent he girls start taking their trousers off and playing in the skirts and t shirts, my body temperature drops.. Sarahs team win..
Sarah and I then took a lesiurely stroll to Nottinghill and the famous Portobello Rd Market, probably one of the best markets I have been too.. We talked, we ate, we shopped.. It was a perfect day and to end it we met Keith in the cutest pub and had a great meal and pint..
On Sunday Keithy and Sarah took me for a wonderful breakfast in a little farm place and then we travelled through the countryside in search of the great English country pub and we found a great one.. We had a pint and then enjoyed our drive through scenic farm lands only 25 mile from London..
I loved my visit with Sarah and I am lucky enough to see her again we I go home..

Krakow - Poland
|
|
After a 8 hr overnight train we arrived in Krakow at 5.30am.. We arrived to a beautiful setting of white snow.. However, it was cold as hell approximately -10C.
We made it to our hostel and then proceeded to investigate the city, another beautiful European city..
Day 1 - We headed to the Salt mines. Interesting??
Day 2 - We headed to Auschwitz-Birkenau.. Sad, scarey and freezing cold..
Our next destination is Cork - Ireland. Home to the Blarney Stone and many O'Connors & Murrays...
